While they don’t offer chat rooms or any type of multiple people conversations Omegle and Chatroulette allow anybody to have text and video chat with strangers located all over the world.
Initially Chatroulette was more or less the video version of Omegle but now Omegle also has video chat unfortunately it came a little late because Chatroulette had already claimed the spot as the number one site to go to for random video chat. So while you can in theory have the same video chat experience from both site Omegle is the one you want to use if you do not want to show yourself on cam while Chatroulette is the one you will choose if you are looking strictly cam to cam chat. But in a nutshell both work, Omegle/Chatroulette video chat should feel the same safe for the look of the interface.
